Alpacas

Wellybobs has been breeding alpacas for 5 years and have a herd of over thirty alpacas, who you will find inside the Animal Barn, and wandering the fields around the farm. They are wonderfully calming animals, with beautiful eyes, and although they are related to llamas they rarely spit at people.

Alpacas are bred solely for their fleece and are sheared every year to have their fleece turned into some of the worlds finest clothing.

There are two types of alpaca the most common type is the Huacayas, these have dense fluffy coats, we also have Suri Alpacas which have a dreadlock coat, the fibre from these are used to make expensive suits.

(Sometimes this map misbehaves a bit and the clickable areas are not where they should be! Sorry about that, it doesn’t seem to like certain web browsers…)
